It looks like Arsenal will be without dynamic forward Theo Walcott for approximately three months after he dislocated his shoulder during a training session for today’s friendly with Germany. The injury will likely halt the ninteen year old Walcott’s meteoric rise and dampen Arsenal’s hopes of competing for the EPL title.
The only good news for Arsene Wenger is that he now won’t have to take his time to deplore Walcott’s call-ups to the English National Team for a little while. Arsenal’s manager had been notoriously angry when Capello had previously summoned Walcott, and his fears that the youngster would be injured have now been realized.
Now, Walcott won’t be playing for Capello, or Wenger, until 2009.
The injury ruins what was supposed to be Walcott’s breakout year. Prior to the season, he was assigned Thierry Henry’s hallowed #14 jersey, and he was expected to assume a larger role than in past seasons when the speedy striker was used primarily as a substitute.
Walcott’s injury occurred when Scott Parker absolutely flattened him during a scrimmage. It’s fair to say that Parker, a West Ham midfielder, just became Gunners’ fans least favorite player in the Prem.

While everyone seems concerned about Theo’s health, I’m lamenting his injury for one reason over all others. Walcott’s absence from the pitch likely means his special lady, Melanie Slade (pictured left), will be missing from the stands during Arsenal games.
Damn You Parker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
