Chelsea must have lost their “hand” altogether because now they might be dealt a whole other blow to their already fragile stance at the top of the Premier League. By some miracle they are ahead of ManU by two points and I can’t imagine how they’ve gotten this far considering all the things that have happened.
Somewhere along the way they got snake-bitten by the loss to ManU in last year’s final, the sanctions proposed by the FA for tampering and now this possible swine flu infestation. It’s best to note that they haven’t actually had on outbreak on the team, but they might because they mingled with Blackburn players who did have Swine Flu.
On Halloween Chelsea has Bolton and ManU has Blackburn…who knows, maybe this same scenario will play out with ManU too?
Then, on Nov. 9th Chelsea runs head to head with ManU, so this could be the watershed moment in this season at the top. With Arsenal, Tottenham, Man Cty, Liverpool and Aston Villa all nipping at the heels of ManU and Cheslea this “swine flu thing” is a major setback even if it isn’t true.
The distraction alone is enough to make their match with Bolton an absolute nightmare. Imagine the controversy that will erupt in the media and all the sensationalism that will surround the “Will the Bolton players get the Swine Flu?” and all of that stuff. It will be a circus…
Will I enjoy it. Maybe *grin*. Will it be a spectacle? Yes. Is this the fortnight that can shape the whole season? Yes.
