In a sport where hair is often considered a form of self expression, next year the Premier League will be a little less blond and a little more boring.

Marseille star forward Djibril Cisse,  who was on loan with Premier League club Sunderland, is moving away from the English League after the club decided not to sign the forward permanently at the end of May.  And now it is being reported that the former Sunderland and Liverpool player will be joining Greek powerhouse Panathinaikos next season with a brand new four year contract worth around 2.5 million euros per year.

Djibril Cisse is well known for two things.  First off, Cisse is respected for his unique knack of scoring goals regardless of the league he is playing in.  The Frenchman scored ten goals for mediocre Sunderland last season, sixteen for Marseille the previous year, eight the year before that, and nine for Liverpool three years ago.  To put simply Cisse has been a goal scoring machine.

Secondly, Cisse is known for his rather unique look and fashion sense.  With a dyed blond hairdo and beard, it is hard not to think of Wesley Snipes’ villainous character in the futuristic film, Demolition Man, when you look at Cisse on the pitch.   Simon Phoenix and Cisse have a very similar look, but their is no word yet on the possibility of the French star forward being  chronogenically frozen and eventually thawed out in the future.

And if I were Cisse I would not go through the trouble.  According to Demolition Man the future is not such a wonderful place.  Although there are no more acts of murder (until Snipes’ character shows up), the only restaurant that exists is Taco Bell.

And with all that money, Cisse may have an appetite for something a little higher up on the food chain.

hilarious… i could survive in a future with only taco bell. if that taco bell had no gorditas, then i would truly be in a scary future…
