PLTO Premier League Top Performers

Frank Lampard

The Blues midfielder would have an especially nice tenth match of the season.  Not only did his club cruise to a home victory over Blackburn 5-0, but Lampard was one of the main components of the club’s offense.  He scored two goals in the match and nearly had two more on shots that buzzed the post.  Another thing that makes the day that much better: Chelsea is in sole possession of first place once again.

Hugo Rodallega

Well we don’t give too many shout-outs to Wigan Athletic, but the club’s striker Rodallega deserves to be in the spotlight after his performance over the weekend.  Burnley has been one of the toughest defensive clubs in the Premier League this season and somehow the club has remained unbeaten at home.  This changed last weekend when Rodallega went to work on the new boys and scored two goals in the tough road match for Wigan.  The club went on to win 3-1 and Rodallega has five goals on the season.  Each one coming in a game that the squad won.

Liverpool

Well it’s been pretty easy to knock Liverpool recently.  They have had middle-of-the-pack results so far this season and every time you think they are turning it around they blow it once again.  Well let’s hope that dry spell has ended for the Reds because last weekend they played their best match of the entire season in an unlikely one against Manchester United.  With Van der Sar and Rooney on the pitch, Liverpool was dealt no breaks, but their own injury-plagued Torres would score the early goal and Ngog would put it away in extra time.  But what was most impressive was shutting their opponent down.
