Liverpool-Manchester United
The Reds have been among the most disappointing squads in all of the league so far this season and their beach ball disaster from last weekend sums up the frustrating start to the season they have endured. With two losses in a row and middle-of-the-pack results so far Liverpool might head down the group table even further now that they are matched up against the new number one squad in the league. Likely no Rooney, Torres, or Gerrard in this one so it will be a game won by lesser known stars.
Tottenham Hotspur-Stoke City
The Spurs are among the hotter teams in the Premier League right now and currently see themselves comfortably sitting in third place. They have achieved two wins and a draw in their last three matches and this weekend Jermaine Defoe & Company look to make the unbeaten streak four games in length. Stoke City is always praised for being a club that can hang with any team. They are also coming off of a win last weekend over West Ham so momentum is in both squads favor.
Hull City-Portsmouth
Somethings gotta give in this battle of two of the worst teams in the top tier. If the season ended today both clubs would be relegated, but this home match for Hull City gives the squad a chance to climb out of the abyss. Portsmouth (4 points back from the Tigers) can only hope to move out of last place in this one, but whoever wins and whoever loses might control who survives the relegation cut at the end of the season.
