Arsenal-Chelsea
Arsenal has been playing wonderful football this season, but the squad slipped last week against Sunderland and currently reside in third place. The board belongs to Chelsea with a five point lead going into this weekend’s road match. Expect goals early and often in this one because this one matches up the two most potent offenses in the league against one another. Arsenal has an impressive 36 goals this season whereas Chelsea has scored 33. Even more impressive for the Gunners they have played in one less match. Still though I think the match favors the road team.
Final Prediction: Chelsea 2-1
Everton-Liverpool
This match features two squads that were outstanding last season and have been pretty disappointing so far this year. Everton lost to Hull City earlier in the week and (currently in 14th) the league table is beginning to look like a steeper and steeper road to walk for last year’s top five squad. Liverpool suffered a loss earlier in the week as well and have been bounced out of the Champions League and currently are in seventh place. Not an ideal situation for either squad, but someone has to step up and someone has to be stepped on.
Final Prediction: Liverpool 3-1
Aston Villa-Tottenham Hotspur
Yowzers! Tottenham Hotspur is not the team I would want to face after their nine goal performance last weekend, but Aston Villa is up for the challenge. In fact Villa has the third strongest defense in the league right now and seem ready for the task of beating the fourth place squad. But nine goals is nine goals and if I were the Villa defense I would watch some extra film this week.
Final Prediction: Tottenham 3-2
