Didier Drogba has had more reasons to celebrate this Premier League season then just about any other player in the top flight.  Not only has Drogba achieved excellent numbers to start off his 2009/2010 campaign, but the Ivory Coast star has his Chelsea Blues squad in prime position to take home the Premier League title this season as well.  And it is only fitting that last year’s Biggest Bust has become the man that every fantasy owner can trust this season.

Drogba is tied for the lead in goals scored with 14 and that total surpasses his last two seasons combined!  Drogba has always been great when he is on the pitch and that has been the key difference this year compared to years in the past.  Drogba is finally healthy and Chelsea has never looked stronger.  Drogba would be a drop in the bucket for winning this award if he did not have international obligations coming up shortly, but even with the Africans Cup arriving soon, he still must be considered the front runner for the award.

Some other people that are clipping at the star forward’s heals are Darren Bent of Sunderland who didn’t really have a bad year last year, but could still easily double his goal total from the year before.  And the dark horse candidate would have to be Joe Hart of Birmingham.  Just a year back he was considered the weak link of Manchester City who loaned the star to the newboys.  But Hart has been one of the best keepers in the league this year and has eight clean sheets to date.
