1) Cesc Fabregas- Arsenal

Fabregas has impressed this season both scoring goals and setting them up.  The Spanish midfielder is having the best season of his young career and is the critical reason why Arsenal have been so great during the first half of the year.  Fabregas has a 3 assist lead over the rest of the pack and seems to be just hitting his stride.

2) Ryan Giggs- Man U

Ryan Giggs is proving that one can continue to perform on the highest of levels despite the fact that they have been in the league for 17 years.  Giggs is getting regular minutes on the pitch this year and the added time is coming with excellent results.  Currently with 8 assists Giggs is one of the few that has a chance of catching Fabregas.

3) Frank Lampard- Chelsea

What would be an assists leaders list without this name on it?  Lampard is the second best midfielder in the league and every year he consistently performs at the highest of levels.  Lampard might be tied with the second place pack, but his squad will likely finish the season in first place.

4) Aaron Lennon- Tottenham

Lennon uses his blazing speed and excellent passing vision to remain a prominent member of the assists list.  The young winger/midfielder is a game breaker and can burn a defense for a quick goal at any time of the match.  Now that is a valuable talent if you ask me.

5) James Milner- Aston Villa

Milner makes the cut despite playing on a squad that is not as explosive offensively as the rest of the listed players, but don’t count Aston Villa out of it yet.  The club plays excellent defense and with Milner in the lineup their star players are very productive.

I wouldn’t say he is the best in the world right now although he is certainly on the list. Just statistically the best in the Premier League this season. He is only 20 years old though and I think next World Cup he will be one of the best in the world for any position beyond any reasonable doubt.
